Mission statement

As the international edition of Novaya Gazeta Europe, our mission is to bring the best independent journalism from Russia to a global audience.

We believe that the world needs to hear progressive Russian voices condemning the war in Ukraine and opposing Russia’s descent into fascism now more than ever. In particular, we consider the documentation of Russian war crimes in Ukraine an essential journalistic duty.
